Parts of the global IGS network. The network shown on the right depicts tracking sites of the frame network maintained by the International GPS Service for Geodynamics (IGS). Data of the IGS network are available since 1996. The network of available stations is increased by usage of stations of the German reference network (GREF), for instance (not shown here). The validation area relevant for this project starts with northern Italy in the south and extends northward covering the whole area of the Baltic Sea.
